DusuPay Warriors have finally found a way to win in the new year, putting Shell Rimula Rhinos away with a 15-03 victory at Legends.
Warriors were first on the pry but their first chance, which fell to Nelson Mandela with a penalty attempt went just wide, before he could redeem himself 4 minutes later and putting Warriors on the board. David Otwii, responded in kind for the Shell Rimula Rhinos, bringing the game back level-pegging at 3-all. Before long, returning Omoding “Sala” Allan broke the line but released Joseph Oyet to score Warriors first try of the game. The resulting kick could not reach, ending the half with the visiting Warriors leading.
After the break, action was so bleak until the Warriors managed a very beautiful move which saw scrum half Simon Peter Nyeko at the end scoring the DusuPay sponsored side’s second try of the game. Richard Kinyai converted beautifully to extend the Warriors lead to 15-03. At full time, Warriors were winners, earning their first victory in 2019, after four games and a bright start to 2019.
Earlier in the day, Adrian Kasito put in a man of the match performance to inspire Betway Kobs to a bonus point 43-08 win, with the tries shared through Davis Kiwalabye, Kasito, Odugo and a penalty try to keep within touching distance of the Hima Cement Heathens. Pirates blew away Barbarians, winning 84-08 on the back of huge performances from Baron Kasozi, Isaac Massa and Kelvin Balagadde. Mongers put Rams to the sword in Entebbe winning 28-07.
