Tooro United Vs Vipers SC, 4:30 PM
(Buhinga Stadium, Fort Portal)

Vipers will be without team captain Taddeo Lwanga as the side face Tooro United on match-day 19 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

The hard tackler picked his sixth yellow card against SC Villa, and thus suspended. Rahmat Ssenfuka who has been a regular fixture in the team, is expected to fill the big boots.

This will be a huge blow for the Venoms who will be fighting to avoid a second league defeat in a row. In Taddeo, they miss not only a team leader but also a curtain to the defence.

This comes at a time when other players especially Moses Waiswa are struggling to regain their lost form, and with Tooro’s midfield armoury of Mahad Yaya Kakooza, Paddy Muhumuza, Willy Kavuma among others, Vipers may be made to chase shadows in the middle of the park.

Assistant Captain Geoffrey Wasswa who would have been a direct replacement will continue to miss out, he wasn’t available against Villa due to injury, but could return in their next engagement.

In other new changes, Yayo Lutimba and Fabien Mutombora, Tito Okello and Bashir Asiku have been dropped. But the shotstopper may make the trip.

Vipers Begin On Clean Slate
Vipers lost their unbeaten run of 34 league games following a 3-1 defeat to Villa at Kitende on Saturday.

The result left the club six points adrift of leaders KCCA who have 41 points and will be in action a day later against BUL FC at Lugogo.

With Tooro United unbeaten in Buhinga, and are on a seven league games without a loss since falling 1-0 to Mbarara, the Venoms face a huge mountain to climb.

In their last game, Tooro needed a later Baker Buyala goal to claim maximum points against struggling Paidha Black Angels.

Vipers will be banking on history to do wonders – This will be the 12th meeting between the sides and Vipers are yet to lose against Tooro (formerly Soana) having won 8 and drawn 3.
