Maroons Vs Mbarara, 4:30 PM
Mbarara City target maximum points against Maroons to keep up with leaders KCCA and Vipers.
The Western giants, third on the 16 team log, will face 12th placed Maroons at Luzira Prison grounds on Tuesday in the league.
Eight points separate Mbarara from KCCA but this can reduce if Mbarara pick a result and KCCA fail to beat Onduparaka at Lugogo.
Victory will take Mbarara to 32 points, the total tally the side registered the whole of last season.
Mbarara’s new signings Ivan Mbowa who joined from Nyamityobora and Ronald Otti (Nangabo Valley) were part of the travelling contingent.
Rashid Mohammed returns after missing out for about a month and is expected to partner Hillary Mukundane.
The side will rely on Paul Mucureezi, Ibrahim Orit, Jude Ssemugabi and Makueth Wol for goals.
The last time the two sides met in the league, Mbarara won 2-0 at Kavumba with Orit and Makueth scoring a goal each.
Last season, Mbarara drew goalless at Luzira before losing 2-1 at Kakyeka in this same fixture.
Maroons who will continue with life without head coach George Best Nsimbe who left to further his studies, are winless in their last three league games – The team lost 1-0 away to BUL after consecutive 1-1 draws against Express and Paidha.
The Ankole Lions on the other hand, last lost a league game in November 2018 – 3-1 against Police FC at Lugogo – They are on a seven game unbeaten run (won 3, drawn 4).
