UPL: KCCA Edge Resilient Onduparaka In Thriller

Tuesday, February 5
KCCA FC 1-0 Onduparaka
Jinja 1-1 Tooro United
Maroons 0-2 Mbarara City
Ndejje University 1-2 URA SC
Nyamityobora 0-1 Vipers
Paidha Black Angels 1-1 BUL

KCCA edged Onduparaka with a hard fought 1-0 win in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter at Lugogo.

Patrick Kaddu, coming back after missing the Mbarara game due to suspension, scored the lone goal of the game, his eighth for the season.

The striker scored from the spot in the second half after Rashid Okocha was judged to have brought down Allan Kyambadde in the forbidden area.

Onduparaka exerted pressure towards the end but couldn’t find a way through: Faizul Ibrahim was denied by the crossbar and he could later have his powerful short deflected by a forest of legs.

Charles Lukwago kept out Rashid Toha’s freekick earlier in the first stanza when the game was still goalless.

The result leaves Onduparaka without a league win from their last five attempts.

Leaders KCCA FC elevate to 40 points after picking their 12th win of the campaign. Next for KCCA who are still without coach Mike Mutebi will be a trip to Mwererwe to face Bright Stars.

In other games, Innocent Wafula scored the only goal as Vipers won away to Nyamityobora FC.
