Mbarara City FC Vs KCCA FC, 4:00 PM
(Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara)
KCCA FC will start the second round without head coach Mike Hillary Mutebi after the gaffer was handed a four match ban and Sh2M.
The visitors face Mbarara City at Kakyeka, a team they are yet up beat in the three league meetings in top flight – 3 draws.
Assistant Coach Morley Byekwaso will be in charge of the visitors, who are leading the StarTimes Uganda Premier Standings half way the season.
We have had enough preparations and we have a good technical team to sustain all the conditions. We are going to handle each game with care, one by one,” noted Byekwaso ahead of the tie at Kakyeka.
“We will do our best because this is the only competition we will be playing in after elimination from Confederation and Uganda Cup.”
Mbarara are not far away in sight, they sit third on the log with 28 points after 15 games, six behind leaders KCCA FC.
At Kakyeka, Mbarara are yet to lose a league game this season – Only URA FC managed to leave unscathed following a one all draw on December 8th last year.
The hosts will rely on Paul Mucureezi who will be facing his former team. The attacking midfielder has scored five league goals and his recent strike salvaged a point for Mbarara against second placed Vipers on Sunday at Kitende.
Rashid Muhammed is the only concern for Mbarara City as the defender may need a late fitness start.
New signings Ronald Otto and Striker Derrick Onyai have been licensed to play, sources in Mbarara claim.
Goalkeeper Ali Kimera is back after serving his red card suspension – He was sent off against Onduparaka in Arua.
KCCA may give Defender Bernard Muwanga and U17 star Sadat Anaku starting berths.
Gift Ali and Sadam Juma remain long term absentees.
