Hima Cement Heathens, top of the table, are poised to stay top when the go to Jinja for their last game before the Uganda rugby premiership goes into a festive season break.
Heathens travel to Jinja to play Walukuba Barbarians at the Abel Dhaira memorial stadium for their sixth game of the season and last game of the year as the Uganda rugby premiership takes a break into the festive season. Barbarians are the new boys, promoted about five months ago and have had a tough time in the league only winning their first game last weekend against town foes, Jinja Hippos.
“We have a couple of changes and as you can see we have Coach Tolbert Onyango involved with us a lot. He is our Strength and Conditioning coach actually,” said Coach Athiyo.
“We shall probably have our next to full strength squad against Barbarians as we have many returning from academic breaks(Reynolds), marital breaks(Otim and Romano) and also from injury (Simon Olet),” confirmed Tolbert to Kratos Sports.
Olet suffered a concussion in Heathens win over Kobs at the end of November.
Barbarians, on other hand, are energized after winning their first game of the season and are raring to go.
“I saw their strengths and weaknesses against Rhinos and I am hoping we will maximize on the latter,” said Coach Lubambula of Walukuba Barbarians.
“Walukuba is looking to cutting the points difference as the Uganda Rugby premiership goes into the break and we know Heathens are a top team.”
