Nyamityobora 0-1 Proline
Nebbi Central 3-2 Admin FC

Big league side Proline FC eliminated top flight team Nyamityobora from Uganda Cup with a 1-0 victory.

Mustafa Mujuzi converted late from the spot to give Shafic Bisaso’s side an edge in Mbarara. Barni Calvin had handled the ball in the forbidden area in the 90th minute off Nordin Bunjo’s shot.

This, ends Nyamityobora’s dream that had seen the club oust East Land FC following a 3-1 away win at round of 64.

Proline extend their stay in the competition to round of 16. The Lugogo based side had earlier eliminated Light SS (3-1) at the previous round.

The defeat, will be seen as a blessing in disguise for Coach Asaph Mwebaze who has indirectly been given enough space to concentrate on fighting relegation.

Nyamityobora are in the red zone, third from the bottom in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with nine points after first round.

Reactions:

Asaph Mwebaze (Nyamityobora): “We played very well and got many chances but we were unlucky not to get a positive result as we wanted.”

Shafiq Bisaso (Proline): “Its a good result for the team, it will boost our confidence ahead of the FUFA big league second round as it is our main target.”
