Burundi U-20 2-0 Uganda Cubs (U-17 national team)

The Uganda U-17 National team, the Cubs have this evening lost  2-0 to the Burundi U-20 team in Bujumbura.

Cedric Mavugo and Bienvenue Kanakimana found the net in either half as the home side cruised to victory in a match played at the Stade Prince Louis Rwagasore.

The Cubs scaled the heights in 2018 and qualified to play at this year’s U-17 AFCON to be held in Tanzania in April.

This is one of the many friendlies the team is expected to play in a bid to be ready for the championship.

Team first assistant coach Jackson Magera believes there are positives to pick from the loss and this will help the team going forward.

“Although we have lost the game, I am impressed by the performance of the team players,”  Magera told the FUFA website after the clash.

“There are many aspects technically and tactically that we have to improve upon especially how to defend well and convert the created chances. We shall continue to improve as the preparations for the TOTAL U-17 AFCON finals go on.” he added.
