Ugandan duo Shafic Batambuze and Erisa Ssekisambu have been included in Gor Mahia’s contingent to face Angolan side Petro Atletico De Luanda in CAF Confederation Cup game scheduled on Wednesday.
The contingent that comprises of 18 players is expected to leave Kenya for Angola on Tuesday morning ahead of Wednesday’s clash.
Gor Mahia are top of their group after Match-day one where they destroyed Egypt’s Zamalek with a 4-2 victory.
In the match, Defender Batambuze played full minutes but Ssekisambu who joined the team from Vipers was a non used substitute.
Gor Mahia will miss the services of striker Jacques Tuyisenge due to suspension of accumulated yellow cards, and the news will be a blessing in disguise for Ssekisambu who is set to fill the void.
However, Denis Oliech and Mustafa Francis are the other forwards in contention on who will pair with Nicholas Kipkirui upfront.
Gor Mahia will leave for Angola in high spirits after blitzing past rivals Leopards 2-0 in the Mashemeji derby – Ssekisambu came off the bench in the last ten minutes while Batambuze played the full game.
Petro De Luanda who lost to Algeria’s Hussein Day FC in their continental opener, are second on the log.
