It has been a tournament to remember for Uganda’s striker William Wadri as the forward took home SportPesa Cup best player.

Despite falling 1-0 in the finals against Champions elect Kariobangi Sharks, William Wadri’s performance was top notch for Bandari FC.

He scored two goals in the tournament – His 65th minute strike separated Bandari from Singida to take the former to the semis. He was also on target as Bandari won 2-1 against Simba to reach the finals.

The King Pin

He was named the Best player of the tournament, and he was the joint top scorer with two goals – Duke Abuya (Sharks) and Amisi Tambwe (Yanga) also tallied two goals.

He took home 500 US Dollars, an equivalent Sh1.8M in Uganda Currency.

Wadri had stints with Police FC, SC Vipers and KCCA FC in Uganda.

Mbao’s keeper Mitacha Minata was named the goalkeeper of the tournament.
