SMACK have made it two for two with a win against Light Academy, winning 20-09 with returning captain Ahumuza Chekie reigning shoulders above the rest.
SMACK tasted the score board first thanks to inside center and vice captain Calvin Musoke, but Light Academy drew back level through fly half Muhaise Hamza. Not before long, Musoke sent a long kick into Light Academy’s and the full back failed to clear his line, and SMACK’s Mumpe capitalized to score the host’s first try. Calvin converted to give SMACK a perfect score, and push the lead to 10-03. SMACK skipper Chekie Ahumuza would later find space in the Light Academy line, bulldozing through to score their second try, and Calvin converted again for a perfect score. That score gave SMACK a 17-03 lead at half time.
The second half was void of action save for Light Academy fighting to concede less, scoring more and fly half Muhaise Hamza slotted in two penalties, but a late Musoke Calvin penalty would give SMACK a comfortable 20-09 win at the full time whistle.
Ahumuza Chekie was chosen as Man Of The Match after the game for his efforts.
“It was a difficult game because fitness levels were low. Our F6s had sosh and the fatigue showed. We shall be better.”
