After beating Germany 29-10 with a bonus point, Canada, who have never missed a Rugby World Cup are just a point away from claiming the last slot in the RWC 2019 happening in Japan.
Canada had to wait til the 72nd minute to score the bonus point try, through Cordon McRorie and bring them close to another world cup appearnce.
McRorie scored a penalty, and converted Lucas Rumball’s try to push Canada to a 10-00 lead before the Europeans replied with converted try to send the game to a tight 10-7 break. Canada were quick on the attack after the break and 2 minutes in, Tyler Ardron was over, with McRorie adding the extras. Two tries in 5 five minutes from Matt Evans (67) and Gordon McRorie (72) sealed the bonus point win for Canada.
Even a losing bonus point against Hong Kong is enough for Canada to advance to the World Cup but the Canadians will obviously go for the jugular against Hong Kong who won their game against Kenya, giving themselves some hope going into the last game.
Kenya led 12-07 at the break, with their tries coming from Elkeans Musonye and Tony Onyango. Poor hands in the defense gifted Denmark to score HK’s only try in the first period. Hong Kong erupted for 5 tries in the second half through Hewson, Fenn, Lamboley (2), and Warner winning 42-17 with Kenya managing one response through Onyango.

The bonus point win gives Hong Kong some hope going into their fate decider with repechage leaders, Canada, in the last outing of this tournament. A bonus point win against Canada would be the ultimate upset.
The winner of the repechage will occupy the 20th and last slot available in RWC 2019, and complete Group B alongside defending champions New Zealand, 2007 Champions South Africa, 2018 Gold Cup winners Namibia and Italy.
