As is at the top, there is serious business at the bottom of the log and two of the major players in the bottom hemisphere face off this weekend. The warriors welcome the Mulago Rams to Legends Rugby grounds this Saturday afternoon.
The warriors have had a forgettable season this year, dominated by marquee injuries to their senior players but maybe a game of this nature, with their top tier status on the line against direct competition, is exactly what they need to rejuvenate. The shameful loss to title hopeful Pirates doesn’t help their cause of staying afloat.
The Rams got their first win of this season at the expense of Warriors in a Makerere Graveyard master class but have since scrapped through games and now have to contend with suspensions to key players in Mark Paul and Richard Lumu. Lumu is practically a religion that everyone at Rams subscribes to and his absence in the team will be felt so much.
Rams defeated the Hippos last weekend and bettered their chances of avoiding relegation but will need to avoid defeat again this weekend because the margin from safety is still thin with Hippos, Impis and Warriors also in the same predicament as they are.
There is so much on line for this game and it should provide a spectacle for the lovers of the game.
