Premiership week 5 preview

Premiership week 5 preview

At the end of the fourth, Heathens had overcome the Kobs to draw the Lions Cup series one a-piece and the Warriors had danced all over the Hippos to go top of the table. Rams registered their first win but the Mongers losing streak continues.

The fifth league outing presents a double header at Kyadondo headlined by Heathens hosting the Rhinos, Buffaloes are hosting win-less Barbarians. Pirates are in Jinja tussling it out with a Hippos side that has no points thus far. The Betway Kobs are making the trip to Entebbe while Warriors are in Makerere.

Hima Cement Heathens Vs Shell Rimula Rhinos

Fresh off that huge win against cross-town rivals Kobs, Heathens are facing the struggling Shell Rimula Rhinos. The win against Kobs has more than proven that Heathens are nothing like they were last season and are meaning business. They remain unbeaten after four games and face their bogey side Shell Rimula Rhinos who have yet to make a mark on the season. One win and three losses is not a record last season’s runners-up are proud of and will want to change that starting this week. The last time the Rhinos visited Heathens, Tchumkam, Scott Oluoch and Michael scored tries as the Rhinos emerged 20-13 victors.

Plascon Mongers Vs Betway Kobs

Kobs are hurting but Mongers are bleeding. After beating Rams on the opening weekend, Mongers have gone on to lose three straight games including two home games. They are facing a difficult Kobs side with hopes of changing their fortunes. Kobs too, found themselves on the losing end last weekend and will want to have no more losses to keep a watchful eye on the table leading pack of Warriors and Heathens. Kobs left a sour taste in Mongers mouths in October after a controversial penalty so Kobs advance to the semi-finals of the Uganda Cup and the Mongers want to seek revenge for that game. The last time Kobs made the trip to Entebbe in the Premiership, they emerged 22-09 winners.

Rams Vs Warriors

Regardless of form, a rugby game between Rams and Warriors is always decided after 80 minutes. Warriors are enjoying the form of their lives – unbeaten and are sitting top of the table, shoulders above the rest. Rams have just had their first win of the league of three consecutive defeats and given that they are at home, they will want to capitalize on the home advantage and upstage the Warriors. Rams were 22-07 winners the last time warriors dared to make the trip to Makerere.

Buffaloes are poised to make easy work of the Barbarians who visit Kyadondo this weekend and strengthen their position on the table, while defending Champions make the long trip to Jinja to visit the hot and cold Hippos.
