Wakiso Giants squuezed through by the skin of their teeth to the Uganda Cup round of 16 against Kireka United.

There were wild celebrations after and throughout the game from the passionate Wakiso Fans who stormed Mandela National Stadium.

Wakiso’s substitute, and Captain Feni Ali scored a beauty to send the visitors in the lead but two back to blunders by Keeper Cleo Ssetuba at the other end gave Kireka an advantage.

Ssetuba, the club’s second choice goalkeeper came out of his line but failed to easily collect a weak short that went through his legs before Umar Mbowa tapped into an empty net to level for the hosts.

Ssetuba’s calamitous acts continued a minute later when he was called into action but his punch could not go far away, for veteran forward Kamada Ndiefi Ssebagala to loop into the net for a second.

Deep into the seven added minutes, substitute Abdul Karim Kasule bundled the equaliser to send the visiting purple sharks into frenzy celebrations, led by club ambassador and number one self claimed artiste Dr. Jose Chameleon.

Ssetuba made amends in the shootouts as he saved one, to give Wakiso a 5-4 shootout win in an all Big League affair.
