Pazani and Barry to take charge of Elgon Cup in Kampala

Precious Pazani and Stuart Berry are poised to be the center referees when Kenya and Uganda clash in the Elgon Cup this weekend at Kyadondo Rugby Club.

Pazani is of Zimbabwean nationality and is ranked highly as one of Africa’s top female rugby referees alongside Uganda’s Jamila Sauda Adiru, and was in charge of the Lady Cranes fixture against the Lionesses in Kisumu for the first leg of the Elgon Cup. She will be taking charge of the second leg too.

Miss Pazani was also in charge of a number of Barthes Cup games, and will, in August, be headed to South Africa for the Rugby World Cup qualifiers.

South African Stuart Berry will be taking center stage in the second game of the day as Rugby Cranes host Kenya Simbas in the Elgon Cup.

Stuart Berry in Super Rugby

Stuart comes with experience in the Super Rugby, and became only the fifth person to referee a Guinness PRO14 Final, as Leinster Rugby faced Scarlets at the Aviva Stadium in 2018.

Pazani will officiate the ladies game at 2pm, while Stuart will officiate the Elgon Cup game at 4pm. All games at Kyadondo.
