FT’ Nkambi Coffee 2-0 Villa
SC Villa are out of the Uganda Cup after falling 2-0 to Regional League side Nkambi Coffee FC at Masaka Recreation Ground Wednesday evening.
Douglas Bamweyana and his charges went into the fixture with the upper hand but return to Kampala nursing wounds of defeat.
The two sides went into the halftime break with no goals in the game.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute with Gerald Kimuli finding the back of the net.
With 9 minutes left on the clock, things turned from bad to worse for the visitors when Ronald Sempala scored to put the game to bed.
The Jogoos had progressed to the round of 32 with a 4-1 win over Lugazi Municipal at the round of 64.
Having fallen to Vipers in the semifinals last year, elimination at this round has to be considered disastrous for Villa.
Villa’s woes started with a poor run at the start of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
They are sitting just above the relegation zone having collected a meagre 14 points in the first round.
The 16-time league winners last won the Uganda Cup in 2015 after the aborted final in Ntungamo was replayed at Namboole.
