In the second game at the Graveyard, Makerere Impis welcome, from Entebbe, the Plascon Mongers.
Impis lie in eighth after 6 outings, falling to a revival hungry Heathens last weekend 67-05. They had a decent first forty minutes but the second was a different story after they shipped 45 points to which they had no answer.
Mongers are coming from a bitter loss handed to them by table leaders, Betway Kobs, in the only game this season when they have failed to score a try. They lost 22-09. That was only their second loss after they lost to Rhinos 33-08 on game day three. Mongers, who were perennially identified with mid-table syndrome, find themselves in unfamiliar territory on the table lying forth above defending Champions, Hima Cement Heathens.
The forward line of the Impis has been quite efficient contributing 60% of their points thus far but their backline too is coming out of their shell and helping out here and there. Tempted to say, again, Adrian Wasswa is the prolific points’ scorer on the Mongers roster as the utility back has amassed 23 points to his name thus far. He’s had to share scoring points with Hannington Mukalazi who so far has 3 tries to his name, and a host of other tries coming in from Wandicho, Segawa, Tamale and Oketa.
Enock Muhiire is the most in-form Impis player and the back rower will be one to watch out for, and not forgetting Spencer, Twaaha and Henry Nsekuye. Plascon Mongers have shown that any one of them can hurt any team so the Impis team will have more than just their work cut out for them in trying to stop the Mongers from scoring.
