Mongers give Wandicho a win

Plascon Mongers have rediscovered their winning formula, beating Walukuba Barbarians 58-10 to give interim coach John Wandicho his first win.

Mongers, who unveiled a new kit with Plascon Uganda some time last week, launched it with a 58-10 win over newly promoted Walukuba Barbarians. The latter cemented their position at the bottom after the loss while Mongers went above Rhinos and are now on 16 points.

“After losing to Jinja Hippos, we had to go back to the drawing board and discuss what went wrong,” said Coach John Wandicho.

“We prepared well for this game, and I am happy with the players response.”

The first round has ended with the Mongers in 6th place, and starting the second round with a home game against Mulago Rams.

“All the teams we lost to during this first round, we could easily have won but there are a few mistakes that were made which we shall rectify going into the second round,” remarked Wandicho ahead of the second round.
