MACOS completes semi-final quartet

Makerere College School (MACOS) beat Light Academy at the Graveyard on Sunday morning to occupy the last semi-final spot.

Namilyango College, Kings College Budo and St Mary’s College Kisubi had already confirmed their places in the knockouts (semi-final) and were waiting on the winner between MACOS and Light Academy, with the former coming out on top,winning 32-03.

“With everything on the line, the boys knew hat to do and came out determined to make sure we go through (to the semi-final,” said a jubilant Coach Lumu.

“This time, we are hopeful that we shall go all the way and win the trophy.”

MACOS will meet defending champions Namilyango College, in the first semi-final while traditional rivals Kings College Budo and St Mary’s College Kisubi will lock horns in the second semi-final at Legends Rugby Club. It will be a repeat of 2017 for Namilyango College and MACOS in the semi-final, a game that had Ngonians on tenterhooks until the malaria of the last minutes with a late try and conversion from Kinyera Emmanuel and Nazo Kevin respectively proving enough to defeat MACOS 7-5.
