Betway Kobs fought back from down to win 30-29 at the death against Plascon Mongers at Legends in what should be the game of the season so far.
Betway Kobs led the game very early on thanks to two well converted penalties by fly half James Ijongat, just before Mongers put on the pressure and veteran Andrew Olweny found space in the Kobs defense to score the visitors first try. Adrian Wasswa converted to give Mongers the lead. Mongers tried to tether together some hands but Ian Munyani intercepted, and the lanky lad was propelled towards the try line and scored the home side’s first try. Ijongat converted to give Kobs a perfect score, and the 13-07 lead. Kobs hands came into play with Kyewalabye finding Ijongat, who in turn found an oncoming Adrian Kasito and the full back found Mukwaya on the wing to score another try. Mongers were put back in the game, thanks to two Joachim Kisanda tries out on the wing, but Wasswa could only convert one and Kobs ended the first leading 20-19.
After the break, Kobs went on the prowl early and were awarded with a try thanks to Faraj Odugo but Ijongat failed to find the extras. Mongers repaid the Kobs results with running hands that ended in the hands of Hannington Mukalazi who scored the visitors fourth try, and Wasswa converted to put Mongers in the lead.
