Kings Park set to host Uganda Cup Semifinals

The country’s focus will be in Bweyogerere at Kings Park as the Uganda Cup reaches the semifinals with four teams now tussling it out for a place in the finals next week.

Black Pirates will be playing Hima Cement Heathens in the early kickoff at 2pm while defending champions Betway Kobs will be taking on the stubborn Plascon Mongers all the way from Entebbe in the late kick-off at 4:30pm.

It will be Pirates’ first game welcoming the 20-16 Champions, Heathens, to their new home in Bweyogerere and Coach Robert Musinguzi of the Stanbic Black Pirates knows the magnitude of the fixture.

“It could be a game like any other but of course you want to make a statement by not losing at home to a direct and big rival,” said Coach Musinguzi.

“At Pirates, we work to achieve the best status that we always can and the fact that we can make it four final appearances in a row is probably the extra motivation that we need as a team. Though, Ultimately, the goal is to win the Uganda Cup like we did in 2017.”

Heathens and Pirates met in the 2016 Uganda Cup final with Heathens coming out on top, and P[irtates exerted their revenge a year later winning the Uganda Cup after beating Heathens at Kyadondo.

The late kickoff will see Paul Sekatte, now of Betway Kobs lineup against his old employers, Plascon Mongers in what should be the game of the weekend. Mongers were responsible for a premature heart-attack to the Kobs last season when they met in the premiership only for the pedigree to kick in and see Kobs match away with the win.

The Shield Semis will be going on concurrently, with Kyambogo hosting their university derby against Makerere University’s Impis and MRI Rams will be hosting Sailors at the Graveyard.

  1. The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see
if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is
now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off
topic but I had to share it with someone!
