KCCA FC will host Onduparaka FC on Tuesday, February 5 at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League Match-day 17.
This fixture will forever be remembered as one when Allan Okello broke onto the scene, and the rest as the saying goes, has become history.
There is actually no shame in losing to KCCA, but there was something humiliating beyond the scoreline.
Youngster Allan Okello scored three goals and assisted the other as KCCA FC obliterated Onduparaka 7-0 at Lugogo.
So let’s walk down the memory lane and remember how the drama unfolded.
In the 2016/17 season, Onduparaka had already proved to be a hard nut to crack, just in their first attempt in topflight.
Onduparaka had beaten up on KCCA in the the first round, 2-1 in Arua and on February 25, 2017 the Caterpillars visited Lugogo with high morale.
It was first against third in the league.
Coach Mike Mutebi gave Allan Okello, 16 years then (born July 14, 2000), his full debut and the teenager welcomed the opportunity with open arms.
Okello was the MVP for last season’s FUFA U17 Juniors League, then.
Ten minutes into the highly attended affair, Okello bundled home a loose ball for the opener after the visitors failed to clear away Muzamir Mutyaba’s delivery.
Okello later assisted Robert Ssentongo with a chip for KCCA to double the advantage before Paul Musamali made it 3-0.
Okello got his second, fourth for the team in the 35th minute – He drove past Rashid Toha – KCCA took a commanding 4-0 lead at the break.
In the second stanza, Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Ssentongo scored one each before Okello completed his hat trick in the 81st minute to seal a dominant performance.
The win helped KCCA to open up a four point lead at the top ahead of second placed SC Villa, then.
