Ugandan national and utility back, James Odong, has been named in the Nondescript side to face KCB this weekend in the eighth round of the Kenya Cup.
James Odong has been out of action for the Red Lion with a knee injury that threatened to cost him his American dream. James was recently named in the 7s training squad for the upcoming and busy 7s schedule for Uganda spanning from Hong Kong 7s, to the Gold Coast for Commonwealth games before they travel to San Francisco for the Rugby Sevens World Cup.
James is one of five changes that Nondies made, which include him replacing Moses Begi at fullback and Begi, in turn going to the blindside wing.
Nondies were bonus point winners against Kisii RFC in the 7th round of the Kenya Cup, winning 29-22. It was tied 19-19 at half time, but a converted try and penalty sealed the bonus point in the second half.
James’ return is a huge boost for the Nondesript and it gets him game time ahead of his international pursuits.
