Uganda will be playing the second of three games in three weekends this Saturday as they host another North African nation in Morocco and Coach John Duncan has reshuffled his team.
Ivan Magomu who was serving a suspension against Tunisia has been recalled into the starting lineup with Robert Masendi making way. Robert Masendi scored Uganda’s first try of nine, against Tunisia last weekend. He was instrumental in setting it up as it was his pop to Pius Ogena that helped the latter break the line, ram through four Tunisian defenders before offloading to Robert to do the honors.
“A suspension is never worth it. It is a very regrettable offence for any player,” said an apologetic Ivan Magomu in an exclusive interview to Akatimba Sports on Tuesday.
Coach Duncan, attributing changes to the depth in the squad and rotation, has further excused Ian Munyani and Arthur Mukama and replaced them with Eric Mula and Ronald Musajja who will be coming off the bench. Eric Mula last featured for the Cranes in Kampala in the 34-16 loss to Kenya in the first leg of the Elgon Cup. Ronald Musajja too, last featured for the Cranes against Kenya but in hthe second round of the Elgon Cup, also Uganda’s second game of the Gold Cup.
As was the case last week, Conrad Wanyama and steamboat engine Solomon Okia will come off the bench for the Cranes.
