The Makerere Impis faced the misfortune of being relegated last season but as the saying goes; every cloud has a silver lining. Many Impis faithful have admitted that this time away from the big stage has given them the opportunity to sit, reflect, assess and re-strategize ahead of the Shield championship that kicks off tomorrow.

They start their revival with a match up against Kyadondo side ; Stallions whom they host at the Makerere “Graveyard”.

Exciting times for Impis fans who finally get to watch their team in action with their faithful servants; Anthony Musimenta, Emma Katuntu, Henry Nsekuye, Amos Asiimile and company back in action.

The goal is to top the central league, win the inter regional play off and then return to where the club is ultimately meant to be.

Impis is one of Uganda’s oldest and traditional sides with a number of accolades to their name in past years of Uganda rugby history. That dominance hasn’t been replicated in recent times bar the occasional show of brilliance in the sevens however the management and players will see this as a second coming for the team to return to its rightful heights – it all starts tomorrow
