The Jinja Hippos have now won three in a row, their latest victim being the beaten Toyota Buffaloes, winning 19-16 at the Dam waters in Jinja.

After beating Rams 12-05 in Jinja, the 2018 Shield Champions shocked Plascon Mongers winning 24-12, before beating the visitng Buffaloes 19-16 a week later.

“Yes! The boys put in another win,” said an elated Saidi.

“We are working so hard every week during training and I am happy it is yielding results. The boys are largely inspired by the previous wins and of course Buffalo Safari Cars, Hand-Back Health that is supporting the team in the background.”

With the third win in the row in the bag, the Jinja side are breathing so hard down the necks of Mongers (16 points)  and Rhinos (14 points) , on 14 points with the first round of the Uganda Rugby Premiership done.

The Jinja Hippos make the trip to Legends to kick start the second round and the coach argues they are upbeat and ready for any one. “We now focus on Kobs and like I said we are not ready to give away any free points at home.”
