Consistency is the word that comes to mind when someone mentions the Hima cement Heathens – they were written off by many at the beginning of the season after what seemed like a rushed assembling of a squad that had half of its roots from the Toyota Buffaloes.
These boys came out to disprove all the naysayers by settling in quick, learning how things are done the Heathens way and handling all the expectations of wearing the green jersey. They haven’t looked back ever since, churning out victory after victory since the beginning and faltering only once along the way.
If Heathens lift the trophy tomorrow then it will be truly deserved as they have the stats to back their cause; having lost one game the entire season and conceding the least number of points which is a true mark of their discipline and defensive organisation – leagues are won by the most efficient of teams.
The last obstacle in their path to glory comes in the form of the DusuPay Warriors who have one job to do – get a win against the home team and let Kobs do their thing. That is the only way that the trophy won’t go to Kyadondo and the Blue army will have their fingers crossed on the outcome of this fixture.
Players and coaches alike have come to respect the Warriors this season for their great improvement – sitting in their highest position since they joined the league. Heathens will be well aware of their threat and will definitely be fielding their strongest side possible. They can’t afford to take chances if the first leg is anything to go by.
