Hima Cement Heathens are back to the top of the table after they obliterate the league’s new comers Walukuba Barbarians 74-03 at Kyadondo.
Heathens scored twelve tries in the process, converting seven while the Walukuba Barbarians could only manage one penalty.
As expected, Heathens were in the lead early enough through hooker Ronald Kanyanya who was at the bakc of a rolling maul. Chris Lubanga failed to add the extras, but ably converted three of four other tries Heathen scored in the first half. Cox Muhigwa got two in the first half, with Paul Epilo and Michael Wokorach getting in on the action, to push Heathens top at the break leading 31-00 against Barbarians.
After the break, it was the same script as Heathens came out on top, adding seven tries to the already scored five. Cox Muhigwa added two to take his game tally to four, with captain Michael Wokorach completing his hat-trick too. Simon Okwera, Bishop Onen, Jordan Bongomin were the other scorers with surprise conversions coming in from Charles Uhuru, Gerald Ssewankambo and Bishop Onen from an angle that seemed impossible. Heathens were confirmed 74-03 winners over Barbarians at full time, with Cox Muhigwa pronounced as Man Of The Match.
With that huge win, Heathens returned to the top of the table, toppling Betway Kobs, now on 71 points, three more than Kobs in second place.
Earler at Kyadondo, Buffaloes withstood late pressure to put away Warriors 15-09 on the back of two tries scored by Romano Ucu (resultant man of the match) and Wilfred Seguya. Mongers saw their game with Rhinos postponed after Legends was declared unavailable for rugby.
