Hima Cement Heathens ran in five tries to win 32-10 against a stubborn Toyota Buffaloes side to remain top of the Uganda rugby premiership.
Heathens were first on the board through a Chris Lubanga penalty with six minutes on the clock. The locks of Heathens finally turned up to the occasion which saw Charles Uhuru and Simon “Diego” Olet maneuver through the Buffaloes defense lines to score Heathens two tries of the first period. Chris Lubanga failed to convert, and a late first half try for Buffaloes through Ucu Romano saw the Buffaloes cut the gap 13-05 at the break.
After the break, Heathens were over again through Charles Uhuru before Buffaloes tightened the defense. A beautiful sequence saw Ali Hayder at the end of a beautiful move to score Buffaloes second try of the game. Heathens ran in two late tries through Michael Wokorach and Gideon “Mukiga” Kayihura to secure the win, and a bonus point, winning 32-10.
With the bonus point, Heathens are assured of being at the top of the log no matter the results from the other games.
Charles Uhuru was named Man Of The Match and said, “I put in a lot of work, and I am glad that paid off. We have the win and I am happy.”
