The National 7s calendar is scheduled to start some time next month and they say this is a warm up for what’s to come.

“We are already involved in the game of rugby 7s and Floodlights rugby was just another chance to bring us closer to our supporters and our people,” said Solomon Oloa, a representative from Guinness.

“The national 7s will be starting next month and of course, we want to get the fans and players in the mood. But having players from different league teams, plying together is an extra we are having this Friday, and we are glad Guinness is on to support the game,” said Ramsey Olinga, from Uganda Rugby Union.

Guinness delivered a bumper cheque of 8 milion shillings and the winner will be walking away with UGX 3.2M, and as well as more cash prizes for the tournament MVP, first and second runners up.

On top of floodlights rugby of the players, there are two fans teams headed by celebrated journos Deus Bugembe and Raul Kanyike, to play amaongst themselves in an exhibition game.

There will DJ Battles between Kampala’s two hottest DJ properties i.e. DJ Alza and DJ Ssese going at it to determine who can command a crowd.

“Everyone needs to come out for the games and start the long weekend in style. On top of the rugby, we are all about a good time and of course we shall be here for the whole party.”
