Geoffrey Kimani, Uganda 7s new strength and conditioning coach, is ready to hit the ground running with the team ahead of a tough calendar.
Geoffrey Kimani was announced last week, that he would take over the role of S&C for the Uganda 7s, having been on three month sabbatical after his contract with Kenya ran out on 31st October.
Kimani has been with the Uganda 7s team before and was elated to be back. “It is good to be back here in Uganda. It is always a nice place, very hospitable,” said a calm Geoffrey Kimani in an exclusive interview to Kratos Sports.
“We are already in much better shape as the boys have been involved with 15s championship. The goal that the coach has set is the World Series and that is going to start with Hong Kong. We made the semi-finals in 2017 but we need to be better this year and go all the way.”
Coach Kimani Geoffrey has already started his work with the team and has continued to be impressed. “I have talked with the team, they are a young and motivated group. We have to be patient with them.”
