Rugby journey
Simon Olet, popularly known as Diego, began his journey from tag rugby, a version of the game that focuses on the basics at a tender age. He is one of the many that have had a rugby development from their a young stage therefore being a big composition of his life.

Diego is one among many of the graduates of the great Kyadondo rugby club set up that has seen him elevate from tag rugby, high school rugby at Hana Mixed through the age grades of the lower Kyadondo clubs up until he joined Buffaloes where he started to make a name for himself.
He was a vital cog in last season’s Toyota Buffaloes that impressed many and defeated fellow Kyadondo side Heathens twice thus assuming the role of the form team in last year’s Kyadondo rugby calendar.

Olet’s exploits didn’t stop there too, he was able to get the call up and a much anticipated debut – with long serving servants such as Mathias Ochwo seeming to have hanged up their boots, the young lad has accrued a lot more caps and looks like a main stay in the national team plans for the second row position.
Following his displays in the recently concluded Gold cup campaign, Heathens came calling and he answered, he now wears the number 4 or 5 shirt for one of Uganda’s traditional rugby sides on a weekly basis.
