“Our sponsorship will come part in cash and in kind. Our venue is now available for the team for whenever they need to use it, with facilitation. We are coming on in a small faction but we are hopeful that next year, we will be in a bigger sponsorship arrangement,”said Onyango on behalf of Velocity Bar.
The ruling body of the game in the country was represented by CEO Ramsey Olinga and he could not hide his pleasure with the wide smile he wore.
“At the union, we are impressed with the direction Warriors have taken. They have solidified their structures: having a paid coach, having organised administration, having a new sponsor. This is definitely going to change the approach of other clubs. I am glad Warriors have set the pace. We are excited for the new season and of course, for Warriors, it will be better,” said Ramsey Olinga.
Warriors Chairman, Fudribo also introduced the new team coach, Ivan Makmot, who until recently was a player for the Shell Rimula Rhinos. Ivan Makmot has an initial one year contract, with an option of extension owing to team performance.
“I decided to take on this role. I take this opportunity to officially announce that I have retired from playing rugby. The club should expect the best from me. I expect to take this cub forward. We have set a goal, and we have to achieve. I will work with the boys, push them. They should expect to work a lot,” said Makmot.
Ramsey Olinga, also had a congratulatory message for newly appointed coach Ivan.
“I am also glad for you, Ivan. Though I am sad that you have stopped playing. I am sure with the kind of pay you are to be getting, you are going to be a full time coach and I wish you well,” said Ramsey.
At the end of the presser, the DusuPay warriors unveiled their new strip, full of color as always. The strips will be available for purchase on shop.kratosbrand.com as soon they are made available to the public.
