CS Sfaxien 3-0 SC Vipers
(Sfaxien win 3-0 on aggregate)

SC Vipers fell to CS Sfaxien in a CAF Confederation Cup qualifying game played at the multipurpose Stade Taieb Mhiri in Sfax, Tunisia.

Goals from Alaeddine Marzouki, Kingsley Sokari and Fabrice Elysée Kouadio Kouakou (nicknamed Manucho) were enough to give the hosts a 3-0 win in a game they dominated from the start.

It was going to be a big mountain for Vipers to climb after failing to take advantage in the first leg as the Kitende duel had ended goalless.

The hosts got into an early lead when Marzouki poked in at point blank range in the ninth minute after Livingston Mulondo had tried to block a well laid cross.

Sokari was at the end of a good build up to direct a powerful header from a lofty cross into the roof to double the advantage in the 34th minute.

The Venoms who had less time with the ball failed to pose a big threat going forward – Moses Waiswa fired over the crossbar, Halid Lwaliwa’s attempt from outside the box was easily collected as Sfaxien cut off supply to Dan Mzee Sserunkuma.

Manucho slotted home the third in the added minutes to finish off Harzi’s low assist inside the area after exchange of passes that started from Sfaxien’s goal area.

Sfaxien, record winners of the Confederation Cup with four titles, joins the lucrative group stages as the Venoms are sent back packing.
