Confederation Cup: Otoho End KCCA’s Journey To Reach Group Stages

Sunday, January 20

KCCA 2-0 AS Otoho
(Otoho win 3-2 on aggregate)

KCCA’s dream of reaching the group stages of CAF Confederation Cup has come to an end despite a 2-0 return leg victory against Congolese opponents AS Otoho.

Patrick Kaddu and a late Allan Okello penalty gave KCCA a deserved victory at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo but the tally was not enough to oust Otoho who had won 3-0 in Congo.

KCCA walk out of the competition following a 2-3 aggregate loss.

The hosts will rue earlier missed opportunies and of course a first half heavy down pour that rendered the astro turf unplayable.

Muzamir Mutyaba who had a quiet game on the day, had his weak effort easily collected from close range.

Allan Kyabadde also fired into the side net and Okello’s shot earlier was cleared off the line.

The hosts will feel hard done by after referee Pacifique Ndabihawenimana (Burundi) denied them at least a clear penalty earlier in the first half when Muzamir was shoved from the back.

KCCA had eliminated Mtibwa Sugar at an earlier stage with a 5-1 aggregate victory.

Otoho Coach Alou Badraa Praise KCCA FC:
“They played very well with a good philosophy. They have good future.

“We came to defend, because we were aware that they were going to press us hard.
