Nyamityobora FC picked their first away win of the ongoing 2018/19 season with a strong performance against Police FC.

Nyamityobora won 4-1 at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo, in probably the club’s best show so far since joining the top flight.

Coach Asaph Mwebaze was all smiles after the victory but added that his side will need more of this if the team is to survive relegation.

The delighted Coach told journalists:

That was a very good performance from my boys, we knew how important it will be for us to win out first game of the second round so we came out positive.”

My players responded well, They understood my instructions and tactics of the game. We knew what Police can do with the ball and so we couldn’t give them lots of space.”

After a series of missed chances from either side, Nyamityobora took a lead in the 22nd minute when Ibrahim Juma Dada’s shot ricocheted off the post to hit Keeper Devis Mutebi’s back before crossing the line.

Nyamityobora doubled their advantage when Damien Nakalema, a debutant, taped in at point blank range after Mutebi spilled Dada’s low effort.

Nyamityobora made it 3-0 before the break and Dada was in staring role: He ran into Ibrahim Pengere’s lofty delivery, beat his man before launching a shot at the far bottom corner.

Dada could later score late in the second half with a beautiful chip to seal a 4-1 sweet victory.

You haven’t seen anything yet from him, he will produce more of this,” Coach Asaph warned about his striker Dada.

We started this campaign in our last game in Jinja, and we have to replicate this throughout. We are going to continue working hard and more.”

Coach Mwebaze however added that there are still many concerns that need to be addressed as his side gave away many scoring opportunities to a blunt Police FC side on the day.
