Buffaloes travel to Entebbe as Uganda Cup enters Quarters

Toyota Buffaloes make the journey to Entebbe, to the House of Pain to tussle it out with Plascon Mongers in the Quarters fo a place in the final 4.

Buffaloes made an easy meal of Bweyogerere Tier 2 side Stallions 42-03 in the opening round, while Mongers enjoyed their journey to the East posting 60 points against a hapless Barbarians side.

“Of course, they (Mongers) are a hard nut to crack but like any other team, we are going into this game for the win.,” says Coach Lemerigar of the Toyota Buffaloes.

“Above all else, every game now is an opportunity for Buffaloes to show they are a new unit. Hopefully, by the final whistle, we shall have used our strategies and utilized everyone’s strength to help hold our heads high at the end of it all.”

Mongers have been recently buoyed in the right direction by a fresh sponsorship package by their name sponsors, Plascon Uganda which saw them get a full kit and UGX 12.3M going to the developments happening at their stadium, all making it a hard trip for Buffaloes to Entebbe.

Mongers have been next to unplayable at home and will be looking to make Buffaloes their next victims.

Elsewhere, Warriors travel to a soggy Kyadondo pitch to play 2016 Champions Hima Cement Heathens while Defending Champs Betway Kobs will be hosting the free-flowing Jinja Hippos. 2017 Champions Black Pirates take on Pirates at Kings Park in Bweyogerere.

The winner between Mongers/Buffaloes will play the winner between Kobs/Hippos, while the winner between Heathens/Warriors will play the winner between Pirates/Rhinos, in the semi-finals next weekend.

In the Shield encounters, new premiership side Impis are at Kyadondo for the early kickoff against Stallions, Sailors are in Bweyogerere’s early kick off against Barbarians, Rams host the Mbale Elephants at the Graveyard in Makerere in the afternoon while Kyambogo host Kisubi Pacers.
