After the invitation to emerging Uganda 7s, it has been revealed this morning that the reigning Guinness National Sevens Champions, Black Pirates, have been invited to take part in the Christie 7s this weekend.

Christie 7s are the last outing of the Stanbic National Sevens Circuit in Kenya and that will be taking place this weekend in Nairobi, RFUEA Grounds, the home of the Kenya Harlequins.

The Black Pirates won the 2018 Guiness National Sevens Circuit after accruing 153 points over 8 legs i.e Kyadondo (2), Jinja, Mbarara, Kitaka Memorial, Coronation, Rujumba Memorial and the Floodlights 7s. Of the eight outings, the sea robbers appeared in six finals and claimed Kyadondo, Coronation 7s and the Jinja 7s to go adrift of the chasing pack.

The last time a Ugandan side took part in Kenya 7s circuit was 2016, as then Champions, Betway Kobs, were invited to take part and placed in the same group as KCB, Catholic Monks and Kabras Sugar. Kobs beat Daystar 29-22 to claim the shield final.
