Barbarians meet Rams in early decider

Newly promoted Walukuba Barbarians make the trip to the Graveyard in Makerere to play MRI Rams in an early decider of who will most likely be relegated this season in the Ugandan rugby premiership.

Coach Leonard Lubambula’s boys, the Barbarians are top of the table from the bottom and are faced with the task of being the other side form Jinja to survive relegation in their first season, after the Hippos pulled it off last season.

Rams are only a point (6) above Barbarians, and other teams will be looking to win and go into safer spaces than they are right now. Rams only win this season came against the Barbarians, winning 12-05 at the Abel Dhaira Memorial Stadium.

“We take a rare trip to Makerere and it’s going to be tough like never before. I have told the boys that they have one option, and that is to win the game,” said Coach Leonard Lubambula.

“We take this game as a decider to either stay in league or get relegated. The other games ahead will be tougher since all teams are going to struggle for better positions.”
